The MikroTik FiberBox Plus, model CRS305-1G-4S+OUT, represents a significant evolution from its predecessors, offering robust performance in a rugged outdoor-ready package. This latest iteration features an enhanced ARM CPU, increased RAM, and four 10-Gigabit SFP+ ports, providing fast and reliable fiber connectivity tailored for budget-conscious users without the limitations of Ethernet distance constraints.

The modern ARM 32bit processor, specifically the Marvell 98DX226S, powers the FiberBox Plus, operating at a frequency of 800 MHz and supported by 256 MB of RAM. This setup ensures efficient handling of network traffic and high-capacity data throughput, rivaling the performance of more expensive models like the netFiber 9 but at a more affordable price point. The device also includes one Gigabit Ethernet port, primarily used for management or PoE-in powering, adding an extra layer of versatility.

Running on MikroTik's RouterOS v7 or SwOS, the FiberBox Plus allows for comprehensive network management and configuration. Users can leverage advanced Layer 3 routing features, firewall setups, and bandwidth management. The system's flexibility is also highlighted by its multiple SFP+ ports which can be configured to manage different data streams or link types, from connecting payment and inventory servers in a food court to providing a fiber backbone to residential guest houses.

FiberBox Plus offers three power inputs: a standard DC jack, PoE-in, and a 2-pin terminal, all supporting a wide input voltage range of 24-57V. This flexibility ensures that the device can be powered in various setups, particularly useful in remote or outdoor installations. Despite its capabilities, the FiberBox Plus is remarkably efficient with a maximum power consumption of 17W and only 7W without attachments, thanks to its passive cooling system.

Designed with the outdoor environment in mind, the FiberBox Plus boasts an IP66 rating, providing protection against powerful water jets from any direction, making it suitable for scenarios such as campsites, food courts, or other outdoor applications.
