Operating under ITU-T G.984 standards, the UFiber WiFi acts as an ONU within a GPON system, supporting high-speed optical networks with downstream capabilities of up to 2.488 Gbps and upstream of 1.244 Gbps. It utilizes a GPON port with transmission (TX) wavelength of 1310 nm and reception (RX) wavelength of 1490 nm, facilitating efficient data transmission over a physical reach of up to 20 km. The integrated dual-band Wi-Fi router supports 802.11 b/g/n standards, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of wireless devices. The device delivers a maximum Wi-Fi transmission rate of 300 Mbps utilizing 2x2 MIMO technology to optimize network throughput and signal quality.

Enclosed in a durable, UV-stabilized polycarbonate housing, the device includes one SC/APC GPON WAN port and four Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 LAN ports for wired connectivity. The UFiber WiFi is powered by a universal AC/DC adapter, supporting a voltage range from 10–30V DC for passive PoE and 5V DC for the adapter, with a maximum power consumption of 7W.
