PoE Extension for Retrofit Applications
The Ubiquiti PoE Over 2-Wire Retrofit Extender (UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire) is a powerful solution for extending Power over Ethernet (PoE) over existing two-wire or coaxial cabling. Designed for retrofit applications, this extender eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming rewiring by leveraging pre-existing infrastructure. The kit includes a transmitter and a receiver, enabling seamless PoE transmission across long distances. The transmitter connects to a PoE++ input and transmits power and data over a two-wire connection, while the receiver converts it back into a standard PoE/PoE+ output. Equipped with 2-wire to coaxial adapters, the system supports various wiring configurations, providing flexibility for different installation scenarios. This makes it ideal for upgrading older systems to modern PoE networks with minimal disruption.
Power and Data Transmission
The UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire is engineered for efficient and stable data transmission while ensuring optimal power delivery. Supporting a PoE++ input of 50V DC at 1.2A, the device delivers a reliable PoE+ output of 48V DC at 0.6A, ensuring uninterrupted power to connected devices. The system features a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface and utilizes HomePlug AV technology to efficiently transmit network signals over existing wiring. The kit also features ESD and EMP protection, with air discharge protection up to ±8kV and contact discharge protection up to ±4kV, safeguarding against electrical surges and ensuring reliable performance. Constructed from high-quality polycarbonate material, these devices are built to withstand various environmental conditions, ensuring long-term reliability.
Versatile Deployment
The UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire supports both twisted-pair and coaxial cables, allowing seamless adaptation to different infrastructure setups. Depending on the cable type and distance, the device optimizes bandwidth and power output. With UTP 24AWG cables, it supports up to 85 Mbps over 100 meters with a maximum power output of 13W, while RG-6 coaxial cables offer the same data rate over 100 meters with a higher power output of 20W. This adaptability makes it suitable for various applications, from upgrading legacy surveillance systems to modernizing intercom and networking setups. By reducing the need for extensive cabling changes, the extender provides an efficient and cost-effective way to integrate PoE into existing installations.
