By utilizing Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technology, this device enables the transmission of multiple data channels (1450, 1470, 1490, 1510, 1530, 1550, 1570 and 1590 nm) over a single fiber optic cable. This allows network administrators to expand the bandwidth of their fiber networks without the need to lay additional cables, making it a cost-effective solution for high-capacity data transfer in enterprise and data center environments. Ideal for applications that demand high-bandwidth connections, the CWDM Mux Demux ensures seamless integration with Ubiquiti's aggregation switches, such as the USW-Aggregation and USW-Pro-Aggregation.

This CWDM Mux Demux 8 comes equipped with an array of connectivity options to ensure smooth integration and scalability. It features one Duplex LC UPC communication port, enabling users to link it with another CWDM Mux Demux 8 device via a pair of single-mode fiber cables, effectively doubling the number of channels available. Additionally, there is a Duplex LC UPC monitor port, which allows real-time network performance observation using a power meter or optical spectrum analyzer. For further expansion, the unit also includes a Duplex LC UPC expansion port, which can be connected to a CWDM Mux Demux 4 to accommodate even more channels.

Designed for reliability, the CWDM Mux Demux 8 supports single-mode fiber type (SMF-28e) and offers a maximum power handling capacity of 500 mW. Its eight Mux/Demux channels allow precise data channeling with channel center wavelengths between 1450 and 1590 nm.
