An Outdoor Reverse PoE Switch with Gigabit Ethernet and 10G SFP+ Ports.
The MikroTik netPower Lite 7R is an innovative outdoor switch that revolutionizes typical GPON base station deployments. As a crucial component of the GPEN concept, it offers ISPs a cost-effective and straightforward solution for delivering internet services to individual apartments. This switch combines the speed of fiber optics with the simplicity of Ethernet technology, all while maintaining the practical aspects of a conventional network setup.
The netPower Lite 7R boasts a robust design encapsulated within a 304 x 212 x 71 mm outdoor enclosure, making it suitable for a variety of external installations, from damp attics to elevator shafts. It can be easily mounted on different poles using hose clamps, ensuring versatility in deployment. The device is designed to perform reliably in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 70°C, reflecting its durability and suitability for diverse environmental conditions.
This high-capacity switch features a non-blocking throughput of 28 Gbps, a switching capacity of 56 Gbps, and a forwarding rate of 41.7 Mpps, powered by the Marvell 88E6193X switch chip. These specifications ensure that it can handle substantial data traffic with efficiency. In addition, the switch runs on MikroTik’s SwitchOS Lite (SwOS), which is designed for easy setup and straightforward switch operations. It also supports RouterOS with limited switch configuration options, providing versatility depending on the user's preference and requirements.
Power and Connectivity Options
One of the standout features of the netPower Lite 7R is its flexible power options. It has seven reverse PoE ports that can draw power from connected clients, which is a significant advantage in reducing overall power infrastructure requirements. The eighth Ethernet port supports passive PoE out, capable of powering another device with the same voltage applied to the unit. Additional power inputs include a DC jack and a 2-pin terminal, both supporting a range of 12-57 V. This flexibility in power sourcing is complemented by a passive cooling system that efficiently manages the device's temperature without additional power consumption.
The switch also includes two SFP+ ports to support high-speed fiber connections and a total of eight 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports. This configuration not only enhances connectivity options but also aligns with the needs of modern ISP infrastructure.
The power supply is NOT included with the product - it must be purchased separately.
Energy Efficiency and Environmental Responsibility
Energy efficiency is another critical aspect of the netPower Lite 7R, with a maximum power consumption of 29 W and just 7 W without attachments. These power specifications represent the switch’s ability to manage energy consumption effectively, which is essential for both operational cost reduction and environmental sustainability. The device's Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) is approximately 200,000 hours at 25°C, underscoring its reliability and longevity.
The netPower Lite 7R is certified under CE, EAC, and ROHS standards, and it has an IP54 rating, which ensures protection against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, further testament to its suitability for outdoor use. It provides ISPs with a scalable, efficient, and robust solution for delivering high-speed internet in various settings, supporting the shift towards more integrated and flexible network infrastructures.
